“How to Become a successful writer in Medium”, and “How Can you get many readers who genuinely want to read your work” these are a type of pieces to get so much attention on Medium. Although, a specific number would be helpful. It is not everything for you to become a successful writer. If you have an audience that can find your piece worth reading, you can be a successful writer. All you have to do is to engage with your audience, give them what they want to read, and you are good to go.

Heads up: Read a lot, learn a lot, write a lot

Numbers vs. Success

I can be a writer with numbers, but it is not mean I am successful or people are gonna love what I write. When you see anywhere, any place, you will find people who are going to say that this market is saturated and only the geniuses succeed, right?

Still, there are many people still here, just trying to become a writer, and how can anyone make that happen? I do not think any article will suddenly tell you how can you have a certain number of followers or will put a full—time salary in your bank account. But I think from what I gather, reading lots of articles or general books, that only you can make that happen to like me. You need to get up and show up every day and do the work.

And if you genuinely love to tell a story, write with your whole heart, Numbers will grow and the work itself will be worth the journey.

What makes you think you will do great in writing and getting followers?

You may think that you are ready, or you will write one piece and get 100+ followers, but no, if you want to make something out of writing for anything, you need to dive into your passion. Write every day whatever you think you can write confidentially, and you think people might be interested in reading. You master this by doing again and again. So start writing right now.

Build your community to feel empowered!

If any successful author can find your work interesting, I think that is the best compliment you can get for your work. The world is full of endless resources for writers, you can read books, YouTube videos, and many helpful articles in a medium. Build your community and find people who are like you, who are interested in your reading, join groups, follow people follow authors you find fascinating.

Establish a platform for online readers to connect with you. This could be a social media or a blog, a podcast, or a combination of a few things. Stick with platforms you like to talk with people and connect on a personal level.

PS: Read. Learn. Write.
